So I have posted many times in OT about my job hunt, I finally found one and got an interview, its a delivery person doing Pickup and delivery of items between our office and real estate offices, lenders, and other various customers in the area; daily bank deposit; check P.O. Box at post office daily for mail; may include some light in-office tasks as well.
its pays $12 an hour plus 48.5 cents a mile, so my question is, when I go to the interview I have heard that its a good practice to write a thank you letter. is this true? what should the letter include? should I send it to the office or drop it off? how soon after the interview should I send it?

Cliffs:
1. Finally got a job interview
2. wondering thank you letter is a good idea?
3. whend should I send the letter?
4.should I send it or drop it off?

thanks

well, I've heard you should mail the thank-you minutes after your interview.

that is good, but i prefer waiting a few hours so as to give the interviewer a break... and then to remind them again.

if you want the job, you should write a thank you note and reiterate some key assets you may provide to the company (your best characteristics, why you're the ideal choice, etc). don't wait more than a day, though. at that point, it may be too late.

btw, email thank-you notes are now becoming more commonplace. if they provided an email address, email them.

otherwise, drop it off (to make personal contact again). as a last resort, i'd mail it to them just in case that time it takes to mail causes them to hire someone in the meantime.

Thank you for taking the time to interview me? That sounds corny as all hell. I'd feel like such an asskisser.

well then, everyone would be considered an asskisser but you.

and they'd get the job, not you.
