Well my CC payment is due on the 18th of each month. A few weeks ago, we mailed the payment. I checked my checking account yesterday and the check hadn't been cashed yet. Come to find out I had a 25 dollar late fee posted on my account. I had a frickin $25 balance, and now I have a $50 balance.

What are you supposed to do when your check is lost? I'm going to call them because I've always made my payments on time, but this is BS.

if u call them, they will refund u the late fee. They have the power to do so, they don't want to lose you. It actually takes less than 5 secs for them to do so. If they don't, complain like crazy. Complaining is the american way of life

Well if they still want me to refinance my house through them they better refund the late fee.
Luckily it's my credit union and they are pretty good about this stuff usually.

online bill paying, FTW!

Get it together, man.

I almost never write a check, exept for maybe one or two per month.

Seriously. Who mails in a credit card payment?? If you sent it by regular mail then you have to assume the risk that it might get lost. Pay your shiznit online like civilized folk.

This credit union does not accept online payments unless I transfer from my checking account with that bank.

I only have 10 bucks in that account.

The CU is about 75 miles from my house also (where I work)

I only write checks for this CC payment. I do EVERYTHING online except for this.

It's not feasible to go to the bank once a month to deposit money, I might as well write a check?

I like to have my money in a local bank so I have access to it.

and before someone says use direct deposit, I'm not screwing with my direct deposit setup with my company. They screwed it up badly when I started with them and don't want to go through that again.

You'd think a company as big as mine is that they would have their act together.

Bull crap. You can sign up with bill pay with most major banks. All you need to do is schedule a payment, and the bank sends it to the address you choose, complete with your account number. I , too have a credit union like that, in a different state. I send my cc payment thru my bill pay acct at my bank. It's worked, so far, 40+ times, without a hitch.

Want to call and ask them why not?

My local bank does NOT do that, the only thing that they have in their online banking is you can see your account. can't do anything with it.

My CC only allows bill payment through THEIR accounts. Now, with my credit union, i can set up bill payments. but that does me no good. I want to send money TO that bank not FROM that bank.

I may be switching banks in the future, but for now this is the setup.
I live in a small town. We just recently got online banking, as weak as it is.

Edit: my local bank only has 4 (maybe 5) branches, all within 20 miles of each other (basically my county) so it's not a major bank.

do....not.....have.....it....at the moment

Probably switching to SunTrust in the next month or so. Hopefully they have it.

also, don't care about the cost, don't pay for it 🙂 free postage for whatever I want FTW.

Seriously, if I had the ability to pay online I believe I would have been doing it from the very start.

I pay everything online that I can.

ah well, too late to talk about bills now.

you all go enjoy your online bill pay, maybe one day I can join you.

In your case, it sounds like you need to mail payment a couple of weeks earlier then.

three weeks early is MORE than enough time to travel 75 miles! jeez people here try to find every reason to slam ya, lol.

I'm not slamming you. Take a chill pill already.

But if you're bitching about your payment not making it there in time, then perhaps you should mail it a few weeks before then.

You can untwist your panties now.

Dude, go open an account at US Bank. You can pay anybody from there.

I will be opening an account somewhere this month most likely, just been too busy lately to do anything.

It's not THAT big of a deal at the moment to mail one check a month, as long as the payments get there.

3 years of mailing a check and it arrives at LEAST a week early every month, but most often 2 weeks early.

I just don't think you know what you are talking about. I can't send off the bill before it arrives.
