Thank you UPS...

...Now I am not one to complain about shipping methods, but this week has sucked enough already. As you can see in my HD thread, the hard drive I ordered was shipped in a standard Priority mail envelope.

However, take a look at the motherboard I received Thursday (shipped via UPS).

For those of you that fail to see a problem, look at the memory clips.

It has been a bad week for minendo and new computer parts.🙁

Ewww... that's horrible!

How did that happen? was the box crushed on that corner or something?

I believe the damage was once again caused by poor packaging. Within the box (mobo was shipped in ecs k7s5a box) was a heatsink which had room to shift.

Well then this isn't UPS fault... it's the guy that did the poor packaging.

True, but I figured I'd bitch about UPS like everyone else.😉

I'd Return it, though the RAM slots probably would still work ....
I'm sure they would, but still.. with no clips, it will just be annoying.. they'll probably work themselves out every couple of months..

OTOH, I'll take the board off your hands. 😉

<-- Still on the K6-3/400 that I built 3 years ago, and would happily use a board with broken ram clips 😛

Friend ordered a monitor, UPS delivered it the other day and the box was all mashed in.....monitor doesnt work, either 🙁

ups and the po,fedex etc... playing football is one thing, but good packaging will endure "most" hardships

i feel for you minendo....i had a 21 inch monitor delivered packed in peanuts...needless to say it never survived lol

Looks like you were a victim of the infamous UPS soccer match 😉

if you only knew. some people/companies should just learn how to package things so they don't move. you would be surprised at the number of packages that have the item beng shipped and NOTHING else. if you saw a UPS hub and knew what all your package went through to get to you, its amazing

I'd blame them both. If you ship ups, drop it first and if something moves inside the box, you best start finding a better box or repacking the sucker much better.

This man speaks the truth. That is an excellent idea before sending ANYTHING out, not just electronics
