Once again we are getting the shaft. Bohemia interactive who created Operation Flashpoint has finished the sequel to the game. However, Codemasters owns the trademark name " operation flashpoint" and plan on releasing their own version of "Operation Flashpoint 2".

So, after some legals, Bohemia Interactive decided to release the game under the name ArmA:armed assault. Which will be on sale on November 10th in europe.

What about US? No publisher, no game. At least I can buy it in europe thru a friend. I have a feeling that Bohemia realy didnt' want to deal with any USofA publishers. Probably because they didnt' want to give in to their demands like in game ads and such.

I realy have no info except for the fact that there is no publisher in US and its coming out in Europe on the 10th, and it makes me sad that my favorite game is not good enough for US publishers.

You know, sometimes its not about the graphics but gameplay! What have we come to?
Fancy packaging with awsome graphics sells, I know but.....................
 
That sucks, but thanks for the heads up... I'll be on the lookout for ArmA: Armed Assault (strange name). Loved the original Flashpoint. Codemasters can go to hell.
 
Strange name indeed. I think its deliberately forgetable. Unlike the catchy titles of mainstream games.

I will be restarting my OFP server with this game, but who will have the game to join me play? I hope the single player mode keeps me busy until others have the game in US.
 
no, actually the original creators of OFP are numbered in 15. Yes 15!! There is 20 of em now.

What they been doing last few years? They have developed a simulation for military training. Pretty cool if I say so myself. Called Real-time Visual Training Program VBS1, and MVTC. Sold to many, including the US marine corps, army national guard, US secret service, US coast guard, but not available to public like me and you lol. (www.virtualbattlefieldsystem.com)

Also did the xbox version of Operation Flashpoint, very bad bad bad ugggg forget I mentioned it 😛

Well a few years ago I have signed up at the codemasters website for any news for OFP2. Thinking all is well and I will be the first to know when OFP2 is near. Now I hear my friend in Czech has preordered it and will get it on the 11th.
and I am out of luck so I came to vent here
