I just got my new iPod today and I thought I would share my thoughts about it.

The first thing I noticed was how thin the thing is even compared to my 3G 10GB; it's considerably thinner.

Next I noticed the size and clarity of the screen; it's very nice, and can be viewed from all angles just fine.

In any event, it synced up all my MP3s, all my photos, and backed up 2GB of documents. When all was said and done I had 427 albums and 4250 photos on the thing, with 18GB of free space on the iPod! Amazing!

The photos look great, and surprisingly, watching videos on the thing is quite entertaining. I'd say it's like lying in bed watching a 20" television set, or watching a video in a 1/4 screen sized window on a 17" LCD.

The little case it comes with is cute but not all that useable; they should have left a clear portion for the screen and it would have been fine.

I'm happy with it so far. I'll give battery life impressions after using it at work tomorrow (drawing things for a living has its advantages). :)

I saw my friend have one of these and I have to say it is the bomb. The thing is thin and you are right that the screen is really clear. AWESOME :Q

Yeah, people complain about how small it is, but they fail to realize it has a greater vertical resolution than the 7" Archos AV 700, and not that much less horizontal resolution (480 vs. 320).

In any event I bought it for playing music.

Oh, I forgot to note the sound quality improvements: they are very noticeable on my Bose Triports! They also completely fixed the EQ, and it does not distort on any of the settings! The sound is warmer overall with more punchy bass. It's also noticeably clearer and more well defined in the vocals/treble.

I'm looking forward to showing my coworker a photo slideshow of my trip to Europe a few years go. :)
