Off to a great start...weird as ever :D If you don't say "WTF!" every 30 seconds, it's not a R&M episode.

to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand rick and morty. the humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. there's also rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from narodnaya volya literature, for instance. the fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny - they say something deep about LIFE. as a consequence people who dislike rick & morty truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in rick's existential catchphrase "wubba lubba dub dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to turgenev's russian epic "fathers and sons". i'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as dan harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. what fools... how i pity them.

it's not gonna be just 5 episodes, but it will take a bit longer for the whole season to be complete. I expect 12 episodes. Google says 10 episodes.

Also .. this thing where people keep saying, you need an IQ of 150 to understand R&M ... it's getting old. It's certainly weird, dark comedy, and some of the things Rick says are a bit hard to understand - sure.
But, the way i see it, the fun is that everyone, everyone in this show is just such a horrible person. Everyone is bad, selfish, incompetent, unfunny, nobody has the high moral ground, they are not heroes.
Im sure you can enjoy R&M even if you are a bit thick - it's a matter of personality, not intelligence.

Or maybe im just so ridiculously supersmart that i cannot understand anymore what's it like to be stupid. See attached video.

LOL not me, it's just a copypasta that someone made on reddit a year or two ago.

i'm not an avid watcher of R&M but if it comes on and i've got time, i enjoy watching it. the underlying theme of "nothing matters" combined with wacky hijinks is entertaining.
