-----------------------------------------

Are you using a pair of RIMMS, Do you have RIMM's in all (4) memory sockets or do you have C-RIMMS in the other (2) sockets. Check BIOS settings. Reseat CPU and memory, watch out for ESD (i.e. ground yourself before touching CPU or memory). Has BIOS been updated to accept the Northwood CPU ? Good Luck...

It sounds like you're using only one RIMM. You need two IDENTICAL RIMMs to boot and a CRIMM in every unused slot.

I knew about the 2 Identical RIMMS requirement, but what are the CRIMMS?? Do they come with the MB? (I too just purchased the TH7II)

The C-RIMMS are continuity RIMMS and must be installed in the empty memory sockets. Your board should have come with two. With RAMBUS motherboards all sockets must be populated.

I got the non-RAID board and had the same problem. I thought it might be my video card, so I snagged my sister's (which is already running in a P4 system) and tried that too. Still nothing beyond POST 29. I tried setting some of the jumpers to get the CPU to boot, but I had no luck there either. Finally, I called Abit. They told me that I needed to upgrade to BIOS 38, and that if I didn't have another P4 chip to do it with, they could send me a new BIOS chip with the new BIOS (for $12.00). I sent off for it on Saturday. Hopefully, I'll have that by this weekend and I can get my new box up and going...

(Added:) I haven't seen anyone that has been able to get a 1.6A up and going on a TH7-II without upgrading the BIOS first. Lots of people have done it with the 1.8A, 2.0A, and 2.2A...which makes me wonder if the 1.6A is a slightly different Northwood than the rest...

Thanks for all the help guys but I think mikeward hit it on the nose, the mem is right 2-128 rimms and 2-crimms. Every thing checks out so I guess I will have to get a knew biose chip since I can't boot up to flash it.
