TFT Flat Monitors, Do I need a special card?

I was thinking about replacing my daughters 19inch monitor with a 15inch TFT, but don't know if she's going to need a new video card. The computer currently has a 3DFX Voodoo3 3000 AGP w/SVideo out. Please explain why if I do new a new video card or can I get an adapter?

You can get an lcd monitor with vga in and it will use the same hookup as the crt monitor, but if you want the digital picture you will have to invest in a video card with dvi out.
