That's when the domain name itself expires, but the current contract must've been just a year, so after that then the registering company (namecheap.com) can re-sell the name to whoever is next in line.

OK looks like the IP of the webserver has changed and it's taking a while to propagate. F knows why.

I'm on the TFNN cPanel and it's still on the old address, but the website is pointing to 69.25.142.9. Odd.

Yes, the overall registration with enom.com is in 2008. What I'm betting happened is that you went to namecheap.com, paid them to register the domain, and they registered it with enom.com for 2 years, while only giving you 1 year of usage. If you do a whois check at namecheap.com (I can't link, they have a graphic check thing), it shows the following:

Updated Date: 29-oct-2006
Creation Date: 08-feb-2006
Expiration Date: 08-feb-2007

Expiration in 2007? Methinks they're trying to screw you out of a year of ownership.
