I'm learning the game...trying to master the skills of medic (go conc go!) and demoman right now, even though I've only been playing a bit.

For those of you that like TFC, but are new, check this out:

Now, for my question: are there any other good map guides out there? Avanti, etc.?

I'd like to learn more about the game, and playing on OLA-CA only does so much. :)

I used to like the sniper (still do sometimes) but you need to have a good team supporting you to have real fun with a sniper. No fun to be a snipe when noone is capping. :p

i am usually a medic or an engineer. i find that these positions are actually more fun because the jobs of these seem more glorified in a way. i always hear people thanking me or telling me how good i am simply by following the front of the wave and keeping my teammates alive (when being a medic). i've not once been thanks for taking a commmand point or something similar.

when i'm an engineer i get to "lead" my team in a way. i've play on this one server with a bunch of regular guys for a week now. and we always have 1 enginner on offense and one on defense. and you get to call out what to do while your gun holds the last postion. i love team games. i would always be interested in playihg with AT people. Firewire is in a league so he would be your best source of info as i am waiting for his thoughts in this thread.

yeah ill check in, im a bad ass sniper (good team or not) ill snipe your ass mid air, but i like playing soldier nothing like putting two rockets up someone's ass before they even turn around.

I play TFC all the time and prefer Medic, Engineer and Sniper. I think the Medic is probably the hardest one to use since he has no instant kill weapons. The Sniper has a gun that is really powerful (if you're patient), the Engineer makes cool SGs and has a cool grenade.. but the Medic really only has the ability to infect it's enemies. I love doing it, but it doesn't have the powerful feeling that a HWGuy has.

I never use scripts. Some people have some pretty evil grenade scripts that explode as soon as they launch (more or less) and have proven to be pretty annoying. Killing people who use scripts is a really good feeling.

Man I haven't played TFC in AGES... ever since I started playing CS... never looked back at TFC...

I'd be really interested in getting a game with people on this forum... if anyone's interested.

Right now I have a sniper fetish... but I can use the engineer, solider or HWguy... even a medic at times.

I use no scripts. I tried scripts when I was first playing the game (I started early January), but gave up quickly, as I realized it's MUCH easier (and more fun) to do everything that way. I actually have no binds or scripts now. If you read the date of these posts, you'll see what I was talking about.

Notice when the last post in this thread was before you dug it up. :)

I play as the soldier, i love popping up towers on 2fort and killin the snipers over and over and over again, its just a joke that they don't learn ;)

I do the same as a medic. I love listening to them bitch about how medics are designed to heal, not infect. :)

I got 4 invitations to tryout for clans, and i told them i'll join their clan's server, but i never went :)

i didn't have any chance, fir3wir3 was moving so quick as a HW guy, but he wasn't cheating, but damn, i had my ass whooped :(
