I just bought a 360 last nite. and im looking for some FPS games to try on xbox live when i move into my new place friday.
now i wanted to try COD4..but unfortunately.. blockbuster gave me a crappy copy that wouldnt read.
but regardless.

How does TF2 measure up.

are there goldrush maps in the 360 version?
how does it run in terms of smoothness?aiming? annoying people?

i really like the game for the pc..but my pc gaming days are short and few lately. i find myself not wanting to sit at a desk anymore than i have to really heh.(work 8 hours helpdesk) but again regardless

I haven't played it but I hear it's pretty horribly broken. Almost none of the patches for the PC version have been applied to the 360 version and it's basically the same version that was originally released no new weapons, maps, anything.

If TF2 had gotten good and timely support, it could have been very enjoyable on the 360. Unfortunately, it did not and very few people play it. Check the Top 10 Live games played though. Three of the top five are shooters. COD4 and Halo 3 (FPS) along with Gears of War (TPS).

Don't be afraid. While it's generally considered on this forum to be the Worst Game of All Time?, it's actually a fun multiplayer experience.

I heard The Darkness is pretty cool, ordered a copy, gonna get it next week, I hope (out of stock :p). It's a FPS with a dark tone (or so I read). You might want to give that one a shot. Plus it's cheap (at least here, compared to the other games).

Yep. And the fact that they Bungie faithfully updates the multi-player experience with maps, gametypes, and playlists makes it worthwhile. Just mute the annoying 12 year olds.

I almost always play with a friend and have a private chat open so I can only hear and talk to him, but when I don't it's... wow. I wonder sometimes if Sony didn't have the right idea by NOT including a headset with the PS3. If you actually had to buy it, maybe there wouldn't be so many obnoxious people. ;)

Halo 3 is pretty fun online once you mute the annoying people. There's supposed to be a big update that changes a bunch of stuff for the multiplayer coming soon too.

I dont hate the game persay, but it does kinda blow. It does have great online playability tho. While I may be one of those who snub H3 when compared to COD4 I will admit I play H3 online all the time. Just mindless no thought needed if-it-moves-shoot-it.

well i come from PC land..where people only use voice chat generally for whats its intended for. i did have halo 2 for a couple days. and i got mad becuz i sucked soo bad hah. and because people were swearing at me for no reason lol. i play with a respected clan in the UT2004 community,so i know all about using your Teamspeaks and ventrillo's
i even remember using programs such as roger wilco or battlecom heh

i also come from a lovely fps background.dating back to the original dooms.. and then Rainbow six, quake 2 and soo on

TF2 is not at all "broken" on the 360. It is an awesome game and there are still plenty of people that play it. I never have trouble getting into full matches. Unfortunately, none of the class updates or new maps are available on the 360 yet (maybe never), but it's still a great game. Since you have it on PC though, which does have all the class updates and maps, I would pass on the 360 version. Unless, you just like the 360 controller or something

I think it's funny that you can't hurt your teammates in CoD4, the realistic shooter, but you can hurt them in Halo 3, the unrealistic shooter. I love both games, but I think CoD4 is more about just shooting before you get shot, while Halo 3 lends itself more to more complicated attacks.

I wish it was good on the 360 cuz I want to play it but the netcode is a little wonky and we still haven't gotten the upgrades.

skywalking, building turrets underground, sniping through closed spawn fences, rocket launching through closed spawn fences, opposing players being allowed to squeeze through spawn wall blocks to get into spawn points all indicate you're wrong about it not being broken.

On top of that, you have the Micies and non-micie class battle. Many server hosts will boot you if you don't like or don't the use of mic. The player population is much more juvenile on the 360 servers.

I have fully converted to the PC version.
