In case anyone missed it (hope this isnt a repost) They nerfed pyro damage some thank god. Their damage falloff was increased.

When did this come out? At times it did feel as if they were doing an inordinate amount of damage since the achievements release, so I can't say I'm surprised.

They said they fixed that too....
it is now supposed to have a crit check before the pyro flame "collides" with your model

yea thats what it says in the notes, but ive been "face-critting" people, and people have to me too. However, it's still improved upon.

I played a few rounds with the new patch. There is definately a difference. You still get raped point blank, but it's clearly not as bad. Also, I'm getting fewer back-crits, which is good.

The "face-crit" is comparable to the "face-stab"; both annoying, but I doubt it'll ever be fixed.

The face stab is such BS. I hate when spies do that. They have never fixed it.

did anyone notice that it takes at least two full body rocket shots to the face to kill a pyro where it used to be one full body shot and then following up with rocket splash damage?

That could easily just be because a pyro has a backburner. It adds 50HP.

Yeah, even after the patch a regular pyro can be killed by just a single rocket. I don't know what the fuss is all about over 50 health.

It's once again a pain in the ass to kill people as a pyro...and they STILL need to work on hit detection. There are times where I run straight up to an enemy and it never lights them on fire but they manage to kill me in 3 seconds flat...

Maybe a single critical rocket... I have never died from a single head on rocket.

Isnt that just like with all the classes, sometimes, probably every some certain amount of seconds your shots do crit no matter what.

Play a soldier for a while and see what I mean.

Criticals are checked when the attack is initiated. If a spy presses the mouse click in range while you are turned around and you turn around while the knife is in motion, you will die if the knife hits you anywhere.

Similar stuff for the Pyro, obviously.

I dunno...last night sucked, I'd be right behind someone literally RIGHT behind and not do crit damage with my backburner it was getting REALLY annoying. Not to mention since it WASNT doing crit damage the soldier/demo/heavy would turn around and instantly kill me in one shot/second.

It felt like the pyro update did NOTHING, during the initial update at least I could kill a few people...now that they re-nerfed the flamethrower not so much and I realize it pisses some people off that they've die so fast but thats the point of the pyro...to kill anyone who gets in range of that flamethrower

No. That's the problem; people think that the Pyro is made for killing. It's a both defensive and offensive class that is built to run people off. That's why you should get points for lighting people on fire as Pyro; more people would play it the way it's supposed to be played. An ubered pyro is good for killing, but just a regular pyro is supposed to lead pushes and move people back; scare tactics.

Then just give them a sign that reads "Boooo!" and they can run around like that.

Since I've started playing again within the past few days I've noticed there seemed to be more pyros playing the game, and I tend to get killed by them easier. Fuckin bastards.

They'll never fix it, it's just that the source engine is terrible. Not as noticeable in TF2 thankfully, but CS:S is pretty bad hitbox wise.

I don't think Pyros need to be nerfed much, they're still pretty easy to kill. But, they did double the range of the pyro flame gun with the last update, if anything they need to reduce that by 25%

I noticed this specifically when I was working on the achievements. Surprised me and it's happened on a couple of occasions (not crits).

Don't think one rocket would kill a pyro. Not even two direct hits from the Demoman's gun kills a pyro.
