One thing I didn't like about it was that this map we were playing only had one way toward the "flag" in CTF. Because of this, all you had were engineers setting up turrets in the room where the only staircase was that went up. No one scored until the sudden death where we just rushed them and they had no turrets set up yet.

Yeah sometimes it is tough. They did it that way because it is a team game. It should be easy if the team is working together. Have a spy sap the turret or a demoman sticky grenade it. It is hard though trying to get random xbla idiots to work together sometimes though.

What's this "spy sapping" stuff? Usually the problem we had was that once you could see the turret to hit it, it could see you and they mowed you down fast. Had to have at least one medic on you to keep you alive. Not to mention the opposing team had demomen throw their sticky grenades so they'd blow up anyone that tried to enter the only two doors in to that area.

I was playing on the PC, so no random XBLA idiots 😛.

A spy can go invisible and destroy a turret. Sometimes it is difficult to get past the turrets but I think it is good. It makes you actually work as a team.

I told myself that when I got The Orange Box (as part of the Fry's XBox360 bundle), I was NOT going play TF2. I didn't want to get sucked into it and waste my nights. But, I couldn't resist. I loaded it up Sunday and had a blast. 8x8 with no lag. Played again last night - 6x6 with quit a bit of lag. It was still fun though, and I kicked butt 😛

With the mention of different classes and turrets this game reminds me of the classic 'Tribes' - maybe without the jet packs. Is that correct?

No spinfusor either 🙁.

Ahh, that'd probably be impossible to do though. They were practically just turtling at that point. Although it's a strategically sound move, it seems a bit cheap.

Hahaha! I still remember that sound. Brings back memories. (dating myself) 😉

i played TF2 all weekend.. i'm so addicted to it! the lag is a problem sometimes, and other times it's hard just to find a game to play in.. i think they need to fix that too

any of you here that are playing TF2 want to play some and help me figure out what the hell is going on... haha. I can't say that I"m liking it all that much so far, but that may be because I'm extremely bad at it.

Just decided to pick it up since I was in wal-mart and have heard great things about it.

What do you need help with? You're probably playing on the 360 so I can't play with you, but we can answer questions!

I'm playing on the 360....and I picked it up right in stride. What are you having problems with Chris?

Well off the top of my head, there are a few things. Yes, it is the 360 version. I thought about getting it for the PC but I've gotten too used to laying back in the couch and playing lately 😛

When I am a spy, the enemies ALWAYS know I"m a spy. But when the enemy spies come into our base I have no way of knowing until they sap my turrets and run off. Maybe I just haven't spent enough time playing to figure it out.

I just got extremely frustrated/pissed off when every time I'd build a turret it would be destroyed immediately by a spy.

At first I couldn't figure out what an ubercharge was, but I was observingsomeone else and figured that out (i think)

There are some other things but being at work now I forgot what they were. Maybe I just need to play a LOT more 😛

Also, was anyone else's disc loose in the case? my disc is a little bit scratched up because it was just flopping around in the case. Of course there was a sticker on the back that said "Disc made in mexico"

I'm debating whether to take it back and exchange it, but as of this point there has been no reading problem.s

To be a good spy you need to use cloaking wisely. Don't run at your enemies disguised as one of them, it's too obvious. Get near their base disguised, cloak yourself, and then head in, preferably near a spawn point. Uncloak, and then run with them disguised.

Never bump into anyone on the opposing team, as you can run through teammates, but you bump into opposing teams. The second you hold someone up you're dead.

Avoid pyros... seriously.

Sap turrets before attacking engineers. When approaching an engineer, I find it best to be disguised as a pyro - as they are an engineer's best friend, so they're more trusting.

Never, ever, ever be disguised as a class the other team does not have. And don't be stupid with selections - ie, a sniper has no reason to be by the flag.

The game is awesome - next time you're on send me an invite.

what's your gamertag? or do I already have you on my friends list?

You do.
Declivity Man.

I'm a TF veteran from the PC days, but now that I'm a 360 owner it's all I play on.

I've been distracted with Guitar Hero 3 for a bit, but I'm ready to lose sleep playing TF2 again. It is really, really good.

ah, ok then 🙂 We'll have to play some then 🙂

Was the patch that downloaded when I first ran the game the one that was supposed to fix the lag issues? I haven't had any problems so far so I'm guessing it was.
