TF2 - fire lags me to hell.

Is there any way to lower the graphics settings of JUST the fire? There can be 34289374 explosions on the screen and i get 60 FPS, but as soon as there's any fire, it bogs down to the point of unplayability.

Sounds like a graphics driver issue. What card are you running? Drivers up to date?
