Well, its that time again, time to get textbooks. I have never really ordered texbooks online, I have just got them from the school bookstore (yeah i know big mistake).

Basically its about how book prices in england are 1/2 what we pay here for the same book, they are just called "International Edition" but are exactly the same thing. Some are even printed in the US. I've noticed that they are paperback vs hardcover.

SO, do you buy books online, and from where?
 
Personally, I stay away from International Editions because of their low resale value.
Anyways, I usually go to bestbookdeal.com to search for the lowest prices.
 
half.com. Only thing that sucks usually is reselling the damn thing. But it's only a mental thing

Last semesters books from store bookstore probably added up to about 500-600
From half.com, I paid no more than 150 including tax/shipping.
 
The last 2 semesters, I made a profit from reselling on half.com. The trick is to sell as close to the start of the school year as possible. That way, people are desperate enough to pay only a little bit under MSRP instead of alot of MSRP.
 
Yup, I also used addall back in college. Most of the time, half.com brought about the lowest prices, especially when they had lots of coupons
 
Amazon.com marketplace.

I actually bought a new Biology book for half the price of local bookstore/Amazon and sold it back for $5 more than I bought it.
 
ecampus.com is good when it comes to decent prices and fast shipping, but try making a return for a refund and you'll never use them again! :|
 
Amazon.com marketplace for used, but I only buy from major resellers since the small sellers on there usually are too slow.
 
You can use my site, BooksOnCampus.com, for buying and selling used textbooks. The advantage is it connects you with students on your own campus, so there's no shipping involved. It's free. You can also buy and sell between campuses if you want though (8% is subtracted if you sell to someone at another campus. Although that's pretty good compared to amazon/half's $0.99 + 15%.

As of right now, prices are an average of 48% off. <-- yeah, average

so.... what are the best places to SELL textbooks? half, amazon?

also, anyone have suggestions on what to ship the books in? i dont really have boxes to use on all these textbooks i plan on selling. All i have are a ton of priority mail boxes, but i wont be using those since i plan on shipping them with media mail.
