text messaging?

anyone prefer text messaging another person to initiate a phone call when convenient for the other person? (cell phone text messaging btw).

Yeah, a text message can be useful if it's possible the other person is otherwise engaged (class, dinner, something else) and a call might be a bad inconvenience.

are you gonna txt msg her?

I did this afternoon at 2 pm. She then called me 10 mins afterwards when we then talked for a little bit. I then mentioned to her that I have no dinner plans and would like to go out because I didnt want to stay home tonite.

She's not fond of text messaging because she has to read the message and would prefer just to talk. I just don't want to catch her in an inconvenient time.

Well, this old fogey has never sent a text message.

If they don't want to take calls aren't they intelligent enough to turn off the ringer?

They'll just get voice mail. It's certainly going to be more personal and detailed.
