text messaging

I use SMS when I'm in a club because it's too loud to talk, or giving some information like a phone number so the person doesn't have to write it down.

SMS is actually VERY popular in asian countries, since its close to free (sometimes free). Rather than use minutes, its better to use sms.

when I first got my cellphone, I played with it. not anymore. it is very useful. when I was with ATT, the receive was free, so i got my cc balance in text messages and daily weather report too.

It's a way for my friends to nickel and dime me to death. I never use SMS myself since I rather talk to someone, and if I'm in class or a meeting, there's no need for external conversation.

In Canada, I get free text messaging from ICQ or within my own provider. It's pretty sweet, I'd rather see people on the bus pecking away than yapping away!!!

I use it pretty often, especially when I have bad reception and need to tell someone something (AKA, It's time to go, meet us here...)

Me and my gf get free receiving SMS... so we send SMS to each other using the provider's website when we are at work (just like using IM)...

It can be helpful when there's a test, and the only person who knows the material is on the other side of the room... not that I would know...

oh no!!!! now he is going to hell!

i've used it once. ever.

I would think it would be rather obvious when someone was using their phone during a test. Of course, if it was multiple choice, I'm sure you could slip something by. But if you seriously need the help during a multiple choice test, may god have mercy on your soul🙂

Good to send messages during class if it is urgent... but other than that I can't think of any reason other than the gf/bf thing.

Some of the newer phones are so small they seem like they would be inconvenient to talk on, but would be convenient for something like that..

My gf is forever text messaging me.......but it works. It's especially good for whenever you go over your minutes and can't talk to them until after 9
