Text is not clear when running @ 1280x1024 w/ mini dock

Acer 17" LCD running at 1280x1024.

Is there anything I can do to make this look more clear? It looks fine when running 1400x1050 on the notebook but when going to the external lcd, it does not look so great.

If its just the text, try turning off cleartype and using "standard" in display properties>appearance>effects. You can also try turning it off.

If that doesn't work, are you connecting through DVI or analog?
