I have just started a paper in 3d graphics and I'm looking for a good geometry book to help me. I'm not going to have too many problems with the programming side of things, I just want to make sure I absolutely nail the maths. Any recommendations?

Yeah, I'd say that linear algebra is at least as important as any geometry text. Generally, 3D is simply one more dimension than 2D. Problems aren't really more complicated - it's the same stuff... problems are just longer. Linear algebra helps do it more quickly & keep things better organized.

For what it's worth, my undergrad thesis was on 4-D graphics. 3-D?? Pssshhh. Sissy stuff. When you start looking at 3-dimensional cross sections of 4-dimensional objects, and 3-dimensional "shadows" of 4-dimensional objects, and try to piece together in your mind what the 4-dimensional object is... Well, I got a lot of headaches.

*barf* I have enough trouble visualizing complex-ish things in 3D. My work brings me tangentially in contact with 3D meshing (ehh like tessellating a volume), and it's one of those things that will have me hauling ass in the opposite direction ASAP.

Thanks for the advice guys. I couldn't get hold of the books suggested so far but I went with this one that my professor suggested.

It seems to cover the maths side of things fairly well I think. I did plenty of linear algebra and geometry earlier in my university career (multivariate calculus, etc) so this is mostly revision. It's just that I'm in my final semester so I really want to kick ass.
