ARLINGTON, Texas -- A new dress code in Arlington will have parents taking a closer look at what their daughters are wearing.
School board members said women's shirts are showing too much, so they instituted a new policy to ban cleavage.
Students who violate the 4-inch-from-the-neck rule will first be given a T-shirt to wear. A second violation and the student will be disciplined for insubordination.
"If we see cleavage, which as I understand the common definition is the space between a young lady's breast, the're going to ask her to change," said Arlington Independent School District Superintendent Mac Bernd.
Some teachers said they're concerned about finding an appropriate way to enforce the new rule.
