The Rangers would reportedly agree to an A-rod for Manny swap, only if Boston agrees to pay a small part of Manny's contract. I think the Red Sox might just bite.

Previously the Rangers have said they would not take Manny at all. Texas' tune might have changed since now apparently A-rod desperately wants out of Texas. I guess he should have thought about that before signing with them. He had the chance to go to several teams, that were quality teams, for a little less money, but he choose alot more money to play on a bottom dweller.

Not likely. They want value in return for Arod, but the Manny deal won't happen. The Sox put Manny on waivers to try to dump his monster salary. To be able to afford Arod they'd need to get Manny completely off their books, it's not going to help them if they're paying him to play for another team. They might eat a million or two of his contract to get rid of him, but the Rangers are going to want the BoSox to pay a lot more of it than that. The Sox don't need overpaid Arod when they've got underpaid Nomar on the roster. The bump in salary doesn't justify the bump in performance. If they're going to spend that much money another A-list starter like Bartolo Colon would be a better investment. Schilling is aging and coming off an 8-9 season, there's no guarantee he's the savior.

Of course the Dallas Morning News has has reported some wrong stories(like the Dallas trying to pursue Bengals RB Dillion, when infact they wanted the RB backup not Dillion).
