Peter Morrison, Texas GOP Official, Calls For 'Amicable Divorce' From 'Maggots' Who Voted For Obama

As some Republicans continue to cope with the prospect of another four years under President Barack Obama, a Texas GOP official is floating a simple way out: cleaving his state from the union.

Peter Morrison, treasurer of the Hardin County Republican Party, wrote a column in the post-election edition of his Tea Party newsletter this week calling for an "amicable divorce" from the U.S., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

"Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government?" he wrote. "Let each go her own way."

Morrison went on to express anger at the "maggots" who backed Obama, specifically calling out non-white voters, whom he accused of voting for the president on an "ethnic basis."

I'm always impressed at how the true American Patriots are quick to call for secession when they lose an election. Though I am a bit confused as to whether voters who voted for Mitt because he is white are also maggots?

When the Dallas Cowboys request asylum I say we give them a franchise in North Dakota.

I don't like the word 'maggot' being used to describe voters. It doesn't have a good ring to it.

I prefer 'suckers', 'schmucks', 'degenerates', and 'parasites' far more.

This is what happen when you have de-assimilated yourself from American culture and society. These people have a mental disorder. Obama needs to act quickly. Set up a Department of Re-Assimilation and have these Romney supporters go through some counseling so that they can interact with American society again.

His line of thinking goes something like "Hey, if you guys don't want to think like me, and talk like me and act like me and dress like me then I'm gonna hold my breath until y'all give in! Ya hear? Here I go! I'm gonna do it! Look at me, hereI go!"

I take calls for secession about as seriously as I do the notion that those who call for it represent conservatives.

Oh, did I mention that Morrison was chosen by former State Board of Education Chairman Don McLeroy to help screen Texas public school textbooks?

Morrison's nasty newsletter has several hundred readers. It's republished on Tea Party websites and redistributed by evangelical Republicans.

He has donated up to $40,000 per candidate and used his Morrison Report to oppose business conservatives allied with Texas House Speaker Joe Straus. In 2010, he used his newsletter to criticize Straus' rabbi and wrote that Straus "lacks the moral compass" to lead.

I called Kent Batman of Kountze, chairman of the Hardin County Republican Party, to ask if the rest of his county party backs secession.

Batman's response: "Wow."

He sighed and said, "OK, well -- I guess I need to start taking a look at his newsletters."

Morrison is a home- schooler and one of Hardin County's more libertarian Republicans, Batman said.

"People around here are asking why Texas is so different from the rest of the country, why we see things so differently," Batman said.

"But I don't think a lot of people here are saying we ought to leave the Union."

what's he got against Vermont, anyway?

:hmm:

I dunno. We got a high average income. Low cost of living. We come out very highly in surveys of everything from education, to obesity, to good government, health care, etc, etc.

Maybe he hates that we are the whitest, and I don't mean snow, in the union?

Though it could be that we are one of the leading states in small businesses and in self reliance?

as a texan democrat i gotta say.. this is the best thing we got going.. being part of the USA.. what the fuck you rest of texans want??? to be mexico??? but without the drug money!!! seriously!

the best thing texas has going is that it's part of the USA.. the usa has problems but damn.. mexico has worse.. and i for one don't want to be them.. UNLESS.. we are part of mexico and i can grow pot and make a living... that's ALL.

dont they understand the only thing that seperates us from iraq/afghanistan is that we are part of the USA??? and THEY HAVE heroin money.

bro, you have no clue.

see in this life there is things we see and hear, and also there are things we don't see and hear, that still exist..

texas can't do shit.

we're not even on par with say.. california.. look at REAL CASH MONEY REVENUE.. and you know, reagan had a good idea.. trickle down economics.. only problem is it happens within households, mothers and fathers, and grandparents, supporting there own family.. that's as deep as it goes.. now equate that to Texas.

look at who we would be equivilent to.. we would be like macedonia..

Uh, that was decided more than 100 years ago when they stood up to that liberal commie muslim fascist Lincoln. Surely you remember how that turned out?

Rassmussen predicted a Southern victory.
