Looks like lots of jobs and people are going to move from Florida to the suburbs of Houston if Disney does follow this judge's desire. The judge said this after DeSantis removed Disney's special status after they made claims that they are against the don't say gay bill.

IMO, Disney should just move to New York City suburbs... no one will say anything to them here, with the exception that they have to pay taxes.

But then again... when DeSantis starts seeing big businesses and people leaving his state, then I think he will start to panic.

They need someplace warm in the winter. Unfortunately nothing southern east or Central that is far enough away from CA. Maybe they could go to GA? NC?

Disney has been in Florida since 1971 and has significantly contributed to Florida's economy ever since. That little prick DeSantis has been politically active in Florida since 2008(?) and I'm wondering just how much he has directly contributed to Florida's economy, especially to what should be untold thousands of conservative folks who have benefitted from Disney being there for so long.

Now if Florida's Republican voters take that into consideration from a common sense point of view, you'd think DeSantis' contrived grandstanding on his pandering to his holier than thou supporters about gays will convince those supporters to attempt to drive Disney out of Florida into the arms of so many other locations that would fight each other tooth and nail to possess that golden egg laying goose? If they do, I'd be the first to congratulate them for helping to ruin their economy based some hoax vote getting ploy.

lol. It's the #1 tourist Destination in the world.

The fucking world. For like, 2 decades straight.

Disney can just sit there and watch DeSantis publicly eat a bucket of dicks on his morally flaccid gripe with them for maybe 2 years straight and not even flinch if they want to. Florida can't survive without Disney. it's impossible.

lol, If Disney somehow moves out, what does FL have left? ...Nutria meat for uh, export? lol.

They can fall back on hookers and blow, and probably start making friends with the Cuban's.

Did you know if you replaced the word Disney with military, and Fl or Florida with NY or New York... you actually get what actually caused NY to go bankrupt in the 70s? From what I remember from reading about New York State history, New York used to have the most military bases in the US during the 40s. In fact, if you were to do deeper reasearch you find out that some places like Staten Island were in fact residence for military folks, as NYC itself had a few military bases. The military was one of the biggest employers in New York State and Long Island at that time. Once WWII ended, majority of the military moved else where, all but one bases in NYC closed and countless others in New York State. People related to the military actually started to leave New York then. With no payment to use land in the state for military purpouses from the federal government, and the diminishing tax base due to the declining population... New York ended up going bankrupt. That was actually one of the many reasons for what caused New York to turn towards the Democrats.

Disney moving to Texas to escape Florida politics would be like fleeing China to North Korea to escape political repression.

How about if Disney announces they will move to Texas if they elect Beto. They can put it somewhere near College Station. That's where the proposed high speed rail line between Houston and Dallas will have a stop.

Didn't Texas pass some dumbass anti-abortion law? It's like these red states enjoy shooting themselves in the foot over and over again. Maybe they're onto something. Maybe it's a form of white christian right-wing BDSM we don't get.

DeSantis is a fucking moron and manages to keep fucking Florida over.

All I want to know what is with this obsession right-wingers have with lgbt people? Sometimes these people know more about gay sex than gay folk.

This whole fiasco will only hurt FL.

1) moves the debt/tax burden to surrounding communities instead of RCID
2) disney less likely to expand/add on/whatever
3) less visitors because of disagreeing with this ... decreased tax revenue

Republicans have an obsession with everything that isn't white, Christian and male.

A lot of them are still in the closet...they can't be themselves so lash out :D
I'm sure a lot of them are closeted. I am sure even more don't like they got a woody when they saw TS porn, or that they like better looking guys in porn. It causes doubt and self hate, so they lash out.

That's definitely a lateral move at best.

How about Puerto Rico? They could definitely use the economic investment.

This is an amazingly good idea.

Actually, no. People WANT to visit Fla-Duh for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they can drive there from nearby states...or even cross-country if they choose. Relocating it to PR would eliminate that option.

Disney generally makes pretty smart business decisions...moving to Tex-Ass wouldn't be one. I would chuckle if Disney closed their Florida operations for several months...citing "long term maintenance" or something similar...the resulting loss of tax revenues to the state would be a nice kick in the nuts...and the loss of business for the various businesses in the area should be enough to fire up those business owners to rage against their elected representatives.

Well, I imagine they have research on what percentage of people drive vs fly. The closest large non-Florida cities are still 6-7 hours each way. Anywhere in the NE is gonna be a couple days driving (especially with kids). I'm sure people do it, but I'm also sure the vast majority fly.

It's probably academic though.

It wouldn't be a smart move to move to Texas, as it's to close to CA where Disney Land is. Have Disney World on the East coast is the ideal placement.

Wat?

Put it in East Texas (don’t actually). East Texas is closer to Florida than it is to West Texas.
