I believe they're called re-education centers with "Arbeit Mach Frei" entrance signs that feature large portraits of Trump and Putin plastered and hung on every wall. ceiling, razor wire fence, "time out" lockers and persuasion chambers in the compound.

You sure that’s the sign at the entrance? Funny way to spell “Amazon Distribution Center #318.”

"They could have just gone back home except that they were making too much money. Texas wasn't their country."

Rather glib, and overly simplistic, but true enough.

Riddle me this then. Name anyone except the First Nations that should be here?.

Land is taken by force. Be it economic or physical, the end result is that one side loses. Denying that is denying history itself. It seems you forget that the land didn't belong to the Spanish / Mexicans either. The spaniards enslaved and slaughtered the aboriginals without much forethought. The land also didn't belong to the Aztecs in Mexico. They took it by force and bloodshed, using slave labor to build temples and cities.

My point is, the entire history of humankind is built on the corpses of our own stupidity. Whether you teach about it or not, the end result is the same...you are where you are because of what happened.
Why ...? "First Nations" You are well aware that different tribes warred, slaughtered, took slaves and generally to the victor belonged the spoils. Why should settlers and immigrants from Europe be any different?

Because we justified what we did to them on the basis that we were different and more enlightened, and made treaties with them to that effect.

Plus, your logic leads to perpetual violence and endless war. Is that what you want?

War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.

I'm not saying that it's different. The discussion was about Texans, Spaniards and slavery, so I tried to keep it close to that.

For the record, actions by our dear indigenous nations to the south would have mad Hitler look like a an average schmuck at times. The Aztecs weren't the only ones using humans sacrifice, but they certainly took it to a new level. You gotta appreciate the effort that they put into domination and exploitation of rival tribes.
