So heres the deal two of us where playing Texas holdum, I had a 6 & Ace, the other had a 6 & 7, cards came down and it was a 3, 4, 5, 7 plus a Queen, both of us where all in.

Who wins? Both of us had straights but I wasn't too sure if there pair of 7's won out or did the Ace beat it?

I assumed the pair of 7's won out but I'm not too sure, anyone care to chime in?

Split pot unless you rank suits.... but if the shared 7 is of a higher suit then you'd have to split?

If it was my group of friends, it would be a split - fairest way to go.

As stated above, you split the pot. You can never use more than five cards to make your hand. If both players have the same five-card hand, it does not matter what pairs, kickers, etc are held. the 6th and 7th cards do not exist.
