Texas Hold Em Poker

I started playing texas hold 'em poker.

It's so much fun.

I'm just wondering how do those people start and end up having careers playing for big money and be on ESPN in world circuit tourneys.

they start by putting in $10,000 in some tournament and work their way up. my friend intends on doing that later on.

Well, the straight buy in to the world series of poker (well, the big no limit hold 'em event) is 10k. Though a lot of people get in through satielle tourenments (starting with a much smaller stake and when they win, they have enough for the 10k entry fee)

You can enter local tourneys and stuff. I may do it later in life.

I was watching World Poker Tour and they had a chance of paying $10K to get into the tournament or pay $100 and play an initial tournament and work their way into the $10K tournament (then the final table).

its very hard and very endurance breaking to play the satellites, qualify for main event, then play the main event.

that said, its not impossible. Ask moneymaker.
