TEXAS Grad School

Hi, I wanted to know if anybody here could tell me about a good Mechanical Engineering (My interest is Robotics) Graduate school that i could go to.

I do not know anything about Texas really other than its big, the women are beautiful, and i could get a gunrack for my Explorer.


Please let me know what school you go to, what you do, and how much you recommend it//dont recommend it.

I'm an undergrad at Rice University. Our graduate program is strong, and we have a strong Haptics department within the ME program that sounds like what you are interested in.

That said, this isn't the strongest program in the country (I think for engineering it's ranked somewhere around 25th).

Look at UT-Austin, UH (Houston), also.

Look at Texas A&M University. They are a good engineering school. Lots of beautiful women, but more ungraduate women then grad.

Also, engineering grad school at Texas A&M has a large number of foreigners and therefore, most girls are foreign too. But I guess that is true for most engineering schools.

UTexas at Austin is amazing but be prepared for insanely hard entrance requirements for grad school. Well, ok let me rephrase. It's not terrible getting in but getting money is a beotch. everyone wants to go there. I would suggest Texas A&M but I can't because my g/f is a UT fan and she'd kill me. North Texas isn't bad either. Also, I have no idea of they have your program but Baylor University is beautiful and really good. My friend is the asst. director of bands there, he loves it.

Go to UNT or Texas Tech. They have reasonable prices and have stuff to do around them. If you're poor, go to midwestern state university where i am lololol.

Dude, Texas is the best state EVER!!! The entire state is gold plated and the trucks all have horns on them. When you come to Texas they give out guns at the border to anyone who is white. If you're black they just handcuff you and throw you in jail...unless you're a football player, in which case you get the keys to the state and can do whatever you want. If you're Mexican they give you a work visa and a lawn mower. If you're Asian they just ignore you unless you do something to piss somebody off in which case you should fear for your life. If you're a hot white chick you pretty much have the same rights as football players and oil barrons. If you're an average to ugly chick you're on your own...much like the Asians.

I went to the University of Texas at Arlington, up in the DFW area. I was a biology major so I can't speak on details of the engineering department, but from what I have gathered they do have a pretty phenomenal robotics and engineering department, and I would think it would be a much better choice than UNT or Tech but maybe just a wee bit "behind" TAMU and UT Austin.

Last time I checked, UT's engineering was ranked 8th in the country.

I have been trying to decide where i want to go to grad school, and i wanted to focus on controls/robotics.

Would Texas A&M be on quarters or semesters?
