Special teams of Texas Rangers will be deployed to the Texas-Mexico border to deal with increasing violence because the federal government has failed to address growing problems there, Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday.

I like it. Unfortunately, I think the ACLU or other radical left group will sue the state and get a federal judge to force Texas to back off under the same justification that lead to the repeal of proposition 187 in California.

Has Walker: Texas Ranger been deployed to deal with the situation yet? He could secure the border entirely by himself! :p

This is a good thing. It's about time and I hope the rest of the states that share a border with Mexico sit up and take notice. The violence down there is getting totally out of hand.

The Texas Governors race is heating up. Rick Perry, current Governor, is trying to improve his chances with this move. The increase in violence has been occurring for the last few years in Juarez/El Paso. I find it odd that only now he decides to send in the Texas Rangers.

I usually vote Democrat but i hope Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Republican US Senator, mops the floor with Govenor Good Hair.

No reason to count on Uncle Sam to defend your state. National Guard is the preferred method, but hey.

Maybe those Rangers will be better at guarding a fence than they play baseball?

Good for them. Unfortunately I think that it is just a political ploy before the election and that they will be recalled after a winner is announced. If the feds won't protect the boarder, then the states must pick up the slack.

How, Pro 187 was a voted on bill that allowed the state to deny social services to illegals.

The Rangers are just enforcing already existing laws like Murder, rape, assault, robbery, theft.
I hope someone tries to sue and all that will do is bring more light on to the subject that the Fed government doesn't give a shit about the citizens of the US, it only cares about it's politcial advancement and securing more power over people for itself, be they legal or illegal.

The western states used their own militias to settle disputes for many years before the feds decided to assert their authority. This was due to the distance from Washington and the slower forms of communication. The states knew that they would have to wait weeks for decisions to be made and troops to be dispatched.

The situation in Mexico is threatening because the lawless have scores to settle both north and south of the border.

That's going the fuck up their chances to make the Playoffs as a Wild Card team. Texas would be better served sending the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars or Rockets.

Obelisks are better for people on foot, though.
