Democrats are getting 41-44%+ in Texas last two elections, the two before they were getting 38%. So we are moved from high 30s to low 40s in two cycles. The trend is our friend.

Of course they also gained votes in other states such as Florida. Maybe its because *gasp* the Democrats ran better candidates and did better overall?

From 2000-2012, Democrats went from ~38->~41. So maybe in 30 years Texas might turn blue. Enjoy the wait.

It will be interesting to see how things go with Wendy Davis this November. I know myself and my family are all voting for her.

This is without even bothering to compete there. Once it gets within shooting distance, then it will be game on. Democrats don't need to win Texas, but if they can force GOP to spend money to defend it, that will not buff right out.

No chance of her winning.

It is nice to know you support the murder of innocent children.

Hopefully wendy will go down like a turd through a toilet.

That kind of talk won't play well with the California transplants.

Sure.

Nobody has yet explained how redistricting is voter suppression.

I guess the question is "does the intent count"? If you follow the letter of the law by creating a "majority minority" district to meet legal requirements, but can somehow manage to build the district to your political advantage should that be allowed? I don't think there's realistically a way to do redistricting which would be immune to any attempts to create a political advantage for whomever drafted it, and I don't think having every decision second guessed by DC bureaucrats using after the fact judgements is the correct path either.

It is impossible to have a district that is balanced. People move and demographics change over time.

As long as each district has about the same number of people it in, this should not even be an issue.

No, they don't like it, and they will vote accordingly, in Texas.
Too bad. For you.

Kinda like those cry baby liberals who are complaining Austin is getting to expensive.

Liberals vote for very park, every library, light rail,,, everything that comes along, and then whine and complain when their taxes go up.

Are liberals natural whiners, or do they have to work on it?

Absolutely. Sending all those Central American children back to die is a crime against humanity. I'm relieved to hear you don't support the politicians who support murdering those innocent children.

Oh wait, silly me. Your passionate humanity ends once the "child" draws its first breath. Pro-life my ass.

Not my problem.

You care so much, you go over there and help reform their government.

The better question is how is demanding the creation of Hispanic majority districts not racism?

But then creating said majority Hispanic districts in a way that makes liberals butt-hurt is racism?

totally agreed, does the legislature need to draw boundaries that do not hurt, race, religion, sexual orientation, and any other interest group that can and WILL complain?

They are moving here and raising the cost of living for the rest of us,

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Texas/2014/06/05/Austin-Liberals-Cant-Afford-Taxes-They-Voted-For
“I have voted for every park, every library, all the school improvements, for light rail, for anything that will make this city better. But now I can’t afford to live here anymore,” said Austin artist Gretchen Gardner to Austin American Statesman reporters.

Gardner, who purchase a 1930s bungalow in downtown Austin has seen her tax bill jump up to $8,500 this year.

Kinda reminds me of California.

Yea I picture the big fat red headed lady yelling over the little mexican 5 year olds body on the ground with her teddy bear next to her, with her big sign saying "You immigrants go home, you have diseases!" and shit like that. How very christian of them to care so much for these children.

Those people need to go home and fight to reform their own nation.

Rather than doing that, they would rather overwhelm the resources of another nation.

So, just extending your analogy, I guess we should just abort all the "Mexican" kids coming across the border right? :whiste:
