I was not required to give a thumbprint when I got my Texas DL back in 2012.

I've wondered about this, since I've had to do a number of FBI background checks. I don't remember ever filling out a consent form specifically for the prints, though.

Me neither. But, at the point you are applying for a clearance, you're already in for a pound. I.e. "in for a penny,, in for a pound".

I assume those who have no issue with giving up their prints would be OK with a DNA sample as well?

Nor have I. Seems like anytime you have a background check that the government is involved in you will have to provide finger prints. I'm sure that my prints are in several databases at this time, back ground checks for Navy security clearances (active duty and civilian for the company for whom I currently work), work in a Nuclear power plant, TWIC card, Virginia CWP, Texas CHL, and Texas DL.

Yeah, you have to get them done to work for an airline or at an airport now too. I have always assumed that even if they aren't loaded into the normal crime database, they are loaded somewhere if some one is really looking for them.

So if you're using somebody elses identity like Don LaRose did when he thought kidnappers were after him they might catch you with a thumbprint?

Meh, I wouldn't worry about it if you're a heterosexual white Christian male with approved conservative beliefs. If there's one thing Texas is good at, it's upholding that these people have rights!

So a database of gun owners is bad but a database including fingerprints for a DL is ok?
For a conspiracy theorist you guys sure seem to lack an imagination on why both would be bad or lead to bad things. Maybe your handlers haven't spelled it out for you yet...probably because they don't have a DL themselves.

Oh well, I don't follow your logic which, I guess, is why I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

Let's reverse this statement and the topics at hand watch you reverse you automatically reverse your position.
