OP you dont live in Texas, why do you care.

From this point on, no one in these forums is allowed to post news, gnash their teeth, and wag their fingers over laws passed in states where they do not live.

Is that what you want? This forum would be a ghost town.

Either way, I will carefully monitor your posting history going forward, and remind you of this whenever you feel the need to comment about what dem scurry libruls are doing in Illinois or California.

BTW: I'm pretty sure anytime your fingerprints are taken they're put into the database. The database wouldn't be near as useful if not. And yes, I believe the courts have already ruled that that's not an invasion of privacy or anything.
Pretty sure that when I've had a couple of background checks done, it was explicitly stated the prints were not saved in a database.

The conservatives and libertarians are the people who are against government intrusion into law abiding citizens lives.

Over here they go into the database. Edit: I'm probably wrong. Under the rules I saw they aren't supposed to be detained (but the article said they aren't always removed though).

I would say it's universal. No one ideology or party can claim that. All "sides" don't like government intrusion.

Interesting, do you have a drives license?

.

Yes, I had to have one while working. (drove a company truck) I did not get one for the job. I have had one since I was 17. So, I had got it before I got the job.

I just read about this about 2 years ago. Apparently this is not widely known. Makes sense. If you are led to believe one it required you go along with it. Cause if you can't trust the DMV who you going to trust.

And?

Driving is not a right, it is a privilege.

As such you have to follow whatever rules or guidelines are put into place.

Some liberal is going to come in here and make a big deal about this. Oh how dare the government ask people for their fingerprints.

Heh. How about a nice piss test? Retina scan? DNA sample? How about a physical, like for CDL's? Certified birth cert & all marriage/divorce/name change info? Redo it all in order to renew? Maybe a RFID chip, like a pet? Anal probe?

Remarkable how righties expose their authoritarian petticoats.

At least the NSA doesn't have our fucking fingerprints. Well, unless they get 'em from Texas.

Enjoy that freedom Texas!
Here in California fingerprinting was optional. When I told the lady at the DMV I didn't want to be fingerprinted , she looked at me like I was a terrrorist.
Later they just changed the law to make a thumbprint mandatory.

Government in the State of Texas wants to finger-print you, if you ask to drive.

They want to hold you in a database of people, for use whenever and however they please.

This is pretty much against "freedom."

I've wondered about this, since I've had to do a number of FBI background checks. I don't remember ever filling out a consent form specifically for the prints, though.
