That's why God made GoFundMe.

They'll have all the money they need, once the right people know.
If they have the equivalent of Trump's grifter PAC, then yes. Compare your daily expenses on a domestic vacation vs. when living at home (and ignore the mortgage because you pay that either way). I'll gladly chip in for the lawmakers to do what they have to do, but what's the end game here? Stay "on the lam" for 6 months? More importantly, how will Texans feel about their lawmakers being absent for that period of time? Will it drive Democratic voters to the polls for the midterms? Or is it just more red meat for MAGA voters to stick it to the libs? Most citizens won't understand what's at stake here; they'll just think their elected legislators are refusing to show up for work.

If you were put in these shoes, would you willingly stay far away from home for months on end knowing the end result can't be changed? I guess most are back home now, but I don't know if that means they have to keep an extremely low profile.

Where did you get the idea that the end game couldn't be changed?

Funny that you answer my honest questions with a rhetorical question. This is mostly a political problem, not a money problem that's solved simply by GoFundMe.

As for the end game, I'll quote a couple mainstream sources. If you know of a workable solution, I'm sure Texas Democrats would love to hear it.

LAT:
The cross-country exodus marked the second time that Democratic lawmakers staged a walkout on the voting overhaul, which they say would make it harder especially for young people, people of color and people with disabilities to vote. But like the effort in May, there remains no clear path for Democrats to permanently block the voting measures, or a list of other contentious GOP-backed proposals up for debate.

CNN:
The bill will next head to the House, where Democrats have delayed its passage by vacating the Capitol, though its eventual passage in the Republican-led legislature is virtually assured.

If they stay gone until the next election, the existing rules will apply.
