Texas Businesswoman's 3-Story Luxury Closet Burglarized

The three-story space houses millions of dollars of goods: clothing, shoes, furs, bags, and jewelry — even a champagne bar.

While she and her husband had stepped out for a quick dinner, an intruder broke into a downstairs restroom and headed for the closet — stealing three bags, valued at $60,000 apiece, and filling them with jewelry, including one-of-a-kind family heirlooms. In all, Roemer estimates that $800,000 to $1,000,000 was lost.

Security cameras caught footage of the masked thief — who was in and out within 40 minutes — but authorities said there are no current suspects.

I've always found it weird how you could be a rightwing christian and things like $60,000 bags exist in a capitalistic society. I don't think Jesus would approve.

Words vs deeds. The rich guy and the camel's eye.

But that could apply to everyone. Let's look at athletes and HW elites.

Edit;lol google "fat film documentary rich guy"

first world problems....

some are funnier than others.

Police suggest it was not an inside job but a professional hit. Roemer usually sets an alarm and locks the inch-and-a-half-thick glass doors of the closet, but she didn't do so that evening. Security cameras caught footage of the masked thief — who was in and out within 40 minutes — but authorities said there are no current suspects.

im suggesting it was an inside job...,

$60K bags confirm my theory about excessive wealth concentration. It makes society worse off overall. The poor get lower pay and a lower standard of living and can't afford stuff they actually need, while the rich see inflation in things they buy, without an offsetting improvement in standard of living. It's a negative sum game.

Looks like the rich are starting to be targeted.

Someone's home was broken into, her personal belongings (some may have been emotionally important to her) stolen, and she is probably left feeling violated. Yet the only thing YOU get out of the crime is that "the rich are being targeted".

Your hatred and bigotry towards people who are more well-off than you are is saddening.

The twelve year olds who make those bags would disagree.

Well, they would disagree if you told them in Cantonese.

lol +1

Buying a $60,000 bag is how rich people give charity? Yeah, I can buy that.

Personally I think that reporting your three $60,000 bags stolen should entitle you to one courteous but thorough police beat-down on the spot.

"Say your $60,000 purse was stolen? Oh, THREE $60,000 purses were stolen? Okay . . . And you do have an alarm system, but you just didn't set it? I see. Oh, and you have 1-1/2" thick glass doors, but they weren't locked. Oh, you bet I'm gonna send someone out right away. In fact, this is what we dispatchers call a three-clubber with taser."

If my wife had a $60,000 purse I guarantee you it would be emotionally important to ME, and I'd cry when it was stolen. Unless it was heavily insured, of course.

You must not have heard from the GOP that it's a time of plague, so no feasting, and certainly no $60K bags ;)

If it turns out that one of the couple has gambling debts or some other financial problems they are hiding from their spouse, I will not be surprised. This just seems too convenient(not locking/Arming as per usual) and too purposeful(Theif went right for the good stuff).

humm, she seems like a kind person and gives quite a bit of time and money to the poor or raising money for children causes.

Theresa Roemer has been a small business owner since opening her first fitness facilities in Wyoming in 1991. Currently, she is the CEO of Theresa Roemer, LLC and oversees the development of several lifestyle brands. She recently opened a showroom in Houston, Texas where she is creating a bespoke fitness and clothing wear line, as well as a home and décor line.

An extreme supporter of many local and national charities, Theresa is a board member for Child Legacy International, making frequent trips to Malawi to build sustainable programs for children there, teaching them how solar and wind create electricity, and installing clean water filtration systems. She is a member of the Circle of Red for the America Heart Association and raises hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. Theresa has been an ambassador for the Texas Children’s Hospital since 2008.

As a child Theresa was diagnosed with rheumatic fever many times over, which caused her to have a heart murmur; she was sickly and her doctors diagnosed her with a lifetime of physical constraints. Theresa opened her chain of fitness centers, Body by Design in Wyoming in 1991 and ran five facilities through 2000, while also providing personal training services through her company Phenomenal Physiques during this time. She took the U.S. Open title in body building at the age of 40, and in the year 2010 Theresa held the titles of Mrs. Houston U.A., Mrs. Texas U.A., and was the 1st runner up for Mrs. United America concurrently. In 2011 Theresa climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for Child Legacy International.

Yeah, if you took away those $60k bags and gave it to the poor just imagine how many 40 ounce malt liquors they could buy.

In other news, progressives think what they waste money on is morally superior to what richer people waste their money on.
