Not really true. Sure, there are limited numbers of bars (well compared with sixth street), but if you get a group of friends, you can still party every weekend if you want. Get involved with some organizations (A&M is big on organization involvement, I think that there are over 700) and you'll be fine. Also Austin and Houston are about 1.5 hours drive so if you want to go hang out with friends there, its easy enough to do on the weekend.

I also loved going to football and basketball games, even went to some soccer and baseball ones. Being an Aggie may not be for everyone, but I had a blast, and got a great education.

Oh yeah, and there are more gays and miniorities around then outsiders would like to admit. Actually there was a gay guy in my fraternity and he had no trouble finding hookups (he was very immature though, told us much more than we really wanted to know). Engineering school has lots of minorities of course, mostly Asians (including a good amount of Indians).

Yup, anyone who thinks there isn't anything to do in College Station hasn't been to college station. Or is just boring. Either way, I went to UTD but I would go to TAMU about 3-4 times a year to visit friends for a weekend and we would always have a blast running all over town.

Aggie Class of 2002. Had my fun while there and will be going back at the end of the month for some partying.
