Hello, I have a new TEW-633GR and corresponding TEW-623PI network adapter. Every couple minutes I'll get 5-10 seconds of major lag while gaming. The router is in the same room as my computer and no more than 7 feet away. My signal strength is always 90%+. If I connect directly to a LAN port, I have no problems.

I tried contacting TrendNet for support, but all I got was (this is the actual full response):

Please note that with wi-fi you willexperience lag from time to time. This is common with most wi-fi connections.

I can't imagine that it's typical to have 4%-8% of your connectivity spent lagging out. Can anyone recommend any troubleshooting tips, any configuration values, or anything that might help?

unfortunately, its true. you can't control the airwaves and things beyond your administration can influence your signal. do you have any wireless phones or neighboring access points? try wireless channels 1, 6, or 11.

better yet, since the router is 7 feet away directly connect...you just can't trust wireless.

That sucks. The wireless phone is DECT...it's a brand new area and few neighbours have moved in yet. I'll try different channels and post back :)

Wireless Networks were Not designed for "Killing" Games that are sensitive to connection Lags, just like your mainstream vehicle was not design to carry big bags of sand to construction sites.

Some people might get more lucky than the other but if the Game is so important that live depends on it, then there is ample of inexpensive wire available everywhere.
