Tethered Jailbreak

So if I jailbroke my ATV2 and installed XBMC would I need to jailbreak my ATV2 everytime it turns off????

you just need a device to bootstrap it. doesn't have to be a pc. but so far the only solutions are pc. i spose you could use a htpc to boot the atv 🙂 lolol.

(folks have made PIC/AVR solutions - desperate times will see them come out of the woodworks - just wait for 4.3 man that is what comex is waiting for)

Not quite. The jailbreak will still be there, along with any changes and customizations you have made in XBMC. You will just need to tether it to your computer to boot it in a jailbroken state. This is not as bad of a situation as it sounds. The Apple TV does not truly turn off unless you unplug it; it merely sleeps, so the only time you will need to do a tethered boot is when you unplug it, or when your power goes out.

If by remove power, you mean unplug the power cable from it... then yes, you would need to hook a PC/Mac up (tether) and run the software during boot-up of the ATV2.
