This test determines how your brain can be brainwashed.

Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence. So, take the following test presented here and determine if you are losing it or are still "with it."

The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you have made your answer.

OK, relax, clear your mind and... begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," then give up now and go do something else. Try not to hurt yourself.

If you said, "bread," go to Question 2.

2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk," please do not attempt the next
question. Your brain is obviously over stressed and may even overheat. It may
be that you need to content yourself with reading something more appropriate such as
Children's World. If you said "water" then proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said "green bricks," what the devil are you still doing here reading these questions????? If you said "glass," then go on to Question 4.

4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany. (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany.) Anyway, during the flight, TWO of the engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he has time and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of "no
man's land" between East Germany and West Germany. Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany or West Germany or in "no man's land"?

Answer: You don't, of course, bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, you are a real dunce and you must NEVER try to rescue anyone from a plane crash. Your efforts would not be appreciated. If you said,
"Don't bury the survivors", then proceed to the next question.

5. If the hour hand on a clock moves 1/60 of a degree every minute, then how many degrees will the hour hand move in one hour?

Answer: One degree. If you said "360 degrees" or anything other than "one degree," you are to be congratulated on getting this far, but you are obviously out of your league. Turn your pencil in and exit the room. Everyone else proceed to the final question.

6. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven
in Wales. In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon, two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get in. In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on. In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on. You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember? It was YOU!!

Now pass this along to all your "smart friends" and hope they do better than you did.

At the end of this message, you are asked a question.

Answer it immediately. Don't stop and think about it.

Just say the first thing that pops into your mind.

This is a fun "test"... AND kind of spooky at the same time! Give it a try, then e-mail it around (including back to me) and you'll see how many people you know fall into the same percentage as you. Be sure to put in the subject line if you are among the 98% or the 2%. You'll understand what that means after you finish taking the "test".

Now... just follow the instructions as quickly as possible.

Do not go to the next calculation before you have finished the previous one..

You do not ever need to write or remember the answers, just do it using your mind.

You'll be surprised.

Start:

How much is:

15 + 6

3 + 56

89 + 2

12 + 53

75 + 26

25 + 52

63 + 32

I know! Calculations are hard work, but it's nearly over..

Come on, one more...

123 + 5

QUICK! THINK ABOUT A COLOR AND A TOOL!

Scroll further to the bottom...

A bit more...

You just thought about a red hammer, didn't you?

If this is not your answer, you are among 2% of people who have a different, if not abnormal, mind.

98% of the folks would answer a red hammer while doing this exercise.

So, is the test to see if you have reading comprehension issues or how easily you can be motivated to keep scrolling?

Hehe. Apparently I'm not brainwashed but I do have carpal tunnel syndrome now.

I thought of a red hammer but I got the first test all right. I am curious as to whether there is a realtionship between the math and the answer or if red hammer is always what people say. The interesting thing is that hammers aren't particularly red.

I think #5 is wrong, the hour hand does not move 1 degree in an hour, it moves 30. Am i right?

A circle has 360 degrees, divided by 12 hours on a clock, thats 30 degrees, so if the hour hand moves from 6 to 7, it moved 30 degrees, right? maybe I'm missing something. And even if its a typo, and was supposed to say how much does the hour hand move in a minute, its still wrong, the hour hand moves half a degree in a minute.

You got me on the green house one, but its a trick question, a house that is green is not a green-house? Thats like saying any house painted white is the whitehouse. Its just messing with the grouping of adjectives and nouns into just nouns.

Who says they do? An anonymous email chain-letter with no source?

Maybe it was a 360 hour clock? ;)

We should start a squad.

Math questions like that are used in psychology questions to interfere with whatever you have in your short-term memory. It's there to "clear" your mind.

It kind of threw me off when it suddenly asked me to think of a tool. Since I was on ATP&N, the first answer that came to mind was - a certain personality on this forum. :D

Edited to avoid singling any one individual out
