testing vm on new cloud storage system

Hi all,

I'm playing with a vmWare virtual server running Windows 2003 Server, and the vm was recently moved to a new cloud based storage system. It seems to be running perfectly, but I was hoping to find some free software that could really test and stress the virtual drive to see what kind of performance I am truly getting.

Any ideas?

download and install inside your vm. log into your console and esxtop all the performance data you could ever want. have fun 🙂

yes all the folks on vmware.com vmtn community have a solid test setup for iometer that they use to compare san/das/nas datastores or physicals.
