Just an idea - I know it may not be easy, but is it possible to test video cards for stability when reviewing them? Say, take GeForce2 cards from all the major manufacturers and run them through a bunch of tests on identical hardware, then compare the results as far as stability is concerned. Maybe use a custom motherboard where it would be easy to change various AGP settings (fast writes, voltage, that kind of thing). I'm sure that this type of review would have been extremely helpful for anyone who is considering purchasing a new video card - after all, for most people stability is a far more important consideration than a few extra fps in Quake 3.
