testing Vid overclock

what should I do to test if my Video overclock is stable? How can I test for artifacts other than just playing a game and looking for the dots or particles? Usually I'd probably miss them because when playing a game I'm not interested in problems in the background.

What benchmaks/games are the most reliable for pointing out the stability issues?

I've tried 3dmark and it seems ok

The Omega drivers come with an artifact tester. Not sure how good it is. An average test didn't find problems that caused 3dmark03 to crash my whole system, but I'm sure the best test in that program would be good.

The only way to tell if your card is truly stable is to knock it for 2 or 3 hours under heavy load.

OC up to what artifact tester and such says is stable, then go online for a nice long bout of UT2003 or BF1942 and stress it good. If it's still standing with no problems at the end, you're golden.

Yep, best way is to just play for a few hours and make sure you don't get any artifacts. Or, you can also run 3dmark in loops overnight.
