Hey everyone. I have a quick question. I am working on a new system that I am putting together. It is using an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard. I have attached the motherboard to the case, connected the power supply to the motherboard, and have connected some of my fans to the power cables. The only drives that I have connected is the floppy disk drive. I have also put in the agp video card. The cpu that I have ordered is not in yet. I have powered on the system just to check my power connections, but should the motherboard output anything to the video card to display on my monitor, when the monitor is on and its cable is attached to the agp video card's monitor connection? Just wondering because currently nothing is being outputted to the monitor at all. This may be due to the fact that there is no cpu on the motherboard yet. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks again.
Actually I read another thread and connected my speakers and the system outputted "no cpu installed", so I am guessing that in the POST process the cpu is checked for before anything is outputted to the video card. Let me know what you all think. Thanks

Wait 'till you get your CPU. Playing with the power switch to see pretty lights isn't worth the risk. Then you can see if it works.

PSA: A PC requires a processor to do anything.
