Testing RAM Performance

So I recently upgraded from 1 512mb stick of ram to chuckin in another stick making it 2 512 obviosuly meaning a gig of RAM.

Interestingly enough, I think I've noticed a degredation in performance... or at least nothing whoppingly faster.

Are there any utilities out there to test just how fast your machine is and how the RAM is performing? I don't feel like I'm reaping any benefits whatsoever by adding another stick of RAM.

I myself only have 512 MB but I'd would say the stuff you do with your computer dosen't need that much RAM, have you tired games, and Photoshop stuff ?
