I got all my hardware but no case, I want to test my mobo and such out... can I just plug the PSU into the wall, and into my mobo, then mobo to monitor? (outside of a case)

And just rest the mobo on the cardboard box it came with?

I think u should definitly be able to.
Its not like the CASE contains special elements on it to not let u do that :)... it just holds all ur components together, nothing more.

Just be carefull with the mobo, make sure u place it somewhere where theres no electrostatic, place it on a wooden desk or smthn, carefully.
Dont touch the mobo while power cable is on i'd sugest...

Exactly what I was thinking :)

Just making sure.

So just run my PSU to my mobo, and my monitor to the onboard video?

run that on a peice of wood or something. non-metal. don't be like me and short-circuit the board. Yea i ran mobo, cpu, pSu, video that and keyboard and mouse. everything worked out.
