Testing max GPU Temps - FurMark or Diablo 3 main screen?

Have any of you noticed your GPU fan getting progressively louder when you are logging into Diablo 3 or even tooling around in the auction house. My 6870 has been kicking out some heat and the fan has been getting louder and louder. I was over at my brother's house and Diablo 3 (the main screen) was running his 9800 GT up to 100% fan speed.

Do guys think this is a game bug? I do remember something similar happening when SC2 came out.

Frame limitor is disabled by default, the game can run on a TI calculator, set a limit or endure the consequences.

If I set my limitor to max 200 FPS, I get these issues, otherwise at 120 FPS, I'm coasting.

You sir, are the man. Noise and heat are gone!! Why wasn't this done at the start? Blizzard WTF ...

Mine was set at 150fps as default, but I decreased it to 120 and haven't had any issues. I believe I was getting tearing during the cgi cut scenes as well.

For some reason I was at 180 FPS and my brother's at 180 FPS as well. Lowered it to 120 FPS and no issue. I assume 60FPS would probably be fine as well?

Frame limiting is adjusted per game in game specific config files or is that a setting changed in GPU options...?

I had to use v-sync to end the tearing in the cutscenes, but I find this true for a lot of current games. I don't get why if it's a video file they have to settle on 720p (or worse) with a 30FPS limit. It's mind blowing. It looks awful, it runs awful, and in the end it's just a shitty way of saving some money/disc space.

I use 120 FPS because I'm currently using my 120hz monitor for some Diablo goodness. 60 FPS should be fine and look smooth on a 60hz monitor. Frankly put, I still don't see the point of a 120hz monitor, I guess my dying eyes are to blame haha.

I just leave mine at 60fps, otherwise my card also runs at 100% GPU, and I have no need to get 200+ fps.
