hello friends, can anyone tell me is there a way to test a motherboard without having a cpu on the board and operating. i had an intel p4 cpu to die on me this past week. i had two identical motherboards i lost the video on the first board then i installed the cpu on the other board and it did not respond at all so i'm thinking that the cpu is bad. but is there a way to test for a short in the motherboard ( please give me the steps to do so) thanks paul.
ps the cpu was an intel p4 1.5 ghz 478 pin i've heard that the p4 is kind of picky or finiky( whatever ).
