What is the best way to test for dead pixels on a LCD? A blank white MS Word document? If I'm going to spend $900 on a Samsung 191T it better have zero dead pixels. The computer store I'll be buying from has no restocking fee so I'll keep taking it back until a get a perfect monitor. I can probably get it cheaper when Dell puts their 1900 on sale but for peace of mind and having a computer store only 10 minutes away that I can go back and forth to all day if I have to, I'll pay the extra $100.

The marquee screen saver would be easy, allows you to specify a background color & you won't have any UI components to worry about.

Do at least solid white & solid black (pixels can be either stuck on or off), plus I'd also do the three primary colors (RGB).

use some standard black, white, red, blue and other colours of screens, if u switch between em (using whateveru like) faulty pixels will show up, now I would suggest doing that only once, I checked mine in teh beginning and I had none, as far as I know it still has none, maybe if I would do the test again I would notice one, and then it would bother me until infinity ...

it's mostly psychological ...

fastest way to do it is in powerpoint... just make 5 or six slide each w/ a diff color... white, black, red, green, blue...
works great... just look at the area in the lower left before you move the mouse b/c it puts up the little menu thing..
