Testing fan noise?

Is there software for use with a pc microphone that will do this? I'd like a readout in decibels so that I can compare my system (which must be in the jet engine range) with others. Anyone know of some software for this or do most sites test with a special device?

Technically, any sound recorder can do that. Creative has it, Maybe windows ships with it. Not sure of your results though unless you use a really top notch mic.

Too bad. I really wanted to know how loud my dual front and back antec 80mms were. Watercooling may be the only option to shut this thing up.
