Went up and down the interstate testing my reprogrammed car. Performance Mode doesnt actually seem to do much. And for that matter lifting the RPM and Speed limit didnt seem to do much either.

For reference I used a Bullydog computer on my 2009 Murano. While the unit functioned correctly I dont think it had any affect on my car. But it does give me some nice data from the OBD port. Of course, so did the 20 dollar bluetooth device and it sends data to my smartphone which I find more convenient.

The problem I really wanted to talk about was the Air Conditioner.

After running the upgrade program I used the tester to my my 0-62 times. (equivalent of 0-100 Kmp/h)
While running the A/C I get a time of 8.7 seconds and a max RPM of 6100. I have no idea if this is good or not because I never ran a test with stock settings. (maybe be reprogram and do it tonight).
When I turn off the A/C and run the test I get a time of 9.1 seconds at max RPM of 5800. Ran the test several times, all on a flat smooth road, same section, no debris.

Obviously I need to put on something better than all-weather tires with too many miles. But can anyone explain the consistently better performance with the A/C in use?

I break some traffic law probably every single time I drive. Mostly speed limit laws... mostly.

Nobody goes the speed limit here though. If the speed limit is 65 on the freeway everyone is doing 80.

since the various companies testing the 0-60 times all got very similar numbers, does that mean they all did a brake launch and not a throttle launch?

They probably use stunt drivers that are good looking and thin. Did you try removing the other seats and floor mats to cut down on curb weight?

Probably..if I were going for numbers, that's what I'd do.

Car and Driver got 9.4 seconds out of their 2016 Prius, and the Prius is generally considered to be the slowest car on the road. Does that make the Murano slow, or the Prius fast?

I get about 10 seconds from my 2000 Insight with a 67HP 3 cylinder 5MT.

OK, so I got a different, non-broken Weapon-R throttle controller. Last one I used was messed up in more than one way. Plug didnt fit, and the control unit was bad. (this was last summer).

The new one works, but doesnt do much. Just gives a higher or lower signal depending on which mode you set.
You install the thing on the little plug between the accelerator and the wires. Then you set a mode (7 economy, 9 powers) and it just works on its own.

Economy mode definitely slowed me down. Power mode didnt seem to do much. I get a little more jump at low throttle (guessing around 25%) but at full throttle I cant even tell a difference. 0-60 time did not seem to improve much.

At least now I know there isnt anything special my car needs. Its just slow. I have no idea why its slower than I first bought it, but I also dont care any more.

A Prius on power mode accelerates quite competently. Still dies going uphill though.
