Just got this monitor and it seems to be very bright. Factory brightness was a "50/100" and is now set at zero yet still appears to be "bright". The bios screen looks fairly black, but when in Windows, and I look at a "black "screen such as represntation of night flight in a flight simulator, the screen looks like very dark grey, not black.

Is this normal for this monitor? And... Is there a website that just has a blank black background for testing?

Oh man this is too much.

This isn't the Off Topic lounge guys, the OP means business.

You can never achieve true black with an LCD monitor (thanks MangoTBG).

If you want a black image, set your desktop background to black in windows, run a blank screensaver, or open up paint and paint it black.

buying an appropriate tinted screen filter will increase the contrast and get you some nice dark blacks.

Why do you talk like that in this thread, but in this one you speak normal english?

I want to visually learn how it's done. Show me some basic ideas and fundamental concepts behind the whole thing. I already understand what a database is at a very basic level. If you're real good, I'd pay you some cash! Or I can also teach you some advanced lead guitar stuff if you're into that sort of virtuoso n trembelo stuff....
