Testing bandwidth between two PCs

I'm trying to test the bandwidth of our Gbit fiber channels because they just don't seem to be offering what they are capable of. Is there a piece of software that will let me test the bandwidth between two machines on a LAN with a very large file?

I've been pretty impressed with NetStat. It's simple, it appears to be accurate, and it's free. 😀

That is a neat little app, but it does not give me much info regarding remote PCs, short of their IP and how many hops it takes.
